Along with partners John Christakos and Maurice Blanks, Charlie Lazor founded Blu Dot Design, which designs and manufactures home and office furnishings with the goal of making modern design more accessible. He created Lazor Office in 2003 to expand his interest in bringing modern design to a broader segment of the marketplace by exploring the use of prefabricated building systems. His first effort is FlatPak, a panelized system of prefabricated components, which Newsweek described as “the first true revolution in American housing in decades.” This project is one of three Dwell Homes offered by Empyrean Homes, an experienced builder of prefabricated houses. Lazor holds an master of architecture degree from Yale University and a bachelor’s degree from Williams College.
